Ready to start the process and begin your property journey in Queens Park?
A leafy retreat, just minutes from the buzz of city life
It is no surprise that with the name Queens Park, that one of the features of this lovely suburb is the abundance of parklands both inside and surrounding it.
It is neighboured by the Centennial Parklands, the shopping and transport hub of Bondi Junction and Waverley towards the popular eastern beaches. This family friendly area is comprised of mostly federation style homes on tree lined streets. Queens Park is home to many families, with sport events and local cafes bringing eager visitors to the area every weekend.

Access to schools is convenient with exclusive Moriah College, Waverly College and Waverly Primary School all close by. Locals enjoy an outdoor lifestyle, taking advantage of the two parks to exercise, picnic and make use of the dog friendly spots while the beautiful beaches of Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi are under 10 minutes’ drive.
Queens Park is a leafy delight, just moments from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
The suburb
The suburb surrounds the park with houses on three sides; however only houses on the park’s northern and eastern sides form the suburb of Queens Park. The area previously formed part of the suburb of Bondi Junction but was proclaimed a suburb by the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales on 2 October 1992. Houses on the eastern side date from the Victorian era. Those on the northern and southern sides are mainly Federation.
History
Queens Park takes its name from the park of the same name on its southern border. Once part of Bondi Junction, the suburb’s name was officially recognised in 1992 following a submission to Waverley Council by a local author Mark Roeder, and a subsequent referendum. Notwithstanding the name change, many of the longer term residents of the suburb still refer to the area as Bondi Junction.
The park
Queen’s Park was originally part of the Sydney Common and later the Lachlan Swamps Water Reserve. Today it is a large urban park, part of the Centennial Parklands. It was dedicated with Centennial Park in 1888 as part of the centenary celebrations of European settlement in Australia.
Numerous playing fields are located on the southern and western flatter sections of the park. The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust undertook major renovations of Queen’s Park in 2009 to improve the quality of the playing fields, children’s playground and developed a shared cycleway to link the eastern suburbs cycle network with Centennial Park.

That desirability, combined with a relatively small supply of properties, means the market here moves quickly and quietly. A dedicated Queens Park Buyers Agent gives you an advantage in this environment. We know which streets and home styles hold long-term value, how proximity to the park and schools impacts resale, and what buyers in this area are prepared to pay. Put simply, we save you time, reduce risk, and improve the chances of securing the right home at the right price.
